35th Hoosier Beef Congress in the History Books

0

The Hoosier Beef Congress (HBC), the largest single-state prospecting cattle show in the United States, was held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds from December 3-5. For more than three decades, HBC has been instrumental in developing a passion for the beef industry and agriculture among young Indiana. For many this is a proud family tradition, as many parents of today’s junior participants also showed at this event when they were young.

On Saturday morning, hundreds of cattle enthusiasts took part in the cattle judging competition. Later, an All Star and Breed cattle sale was held attended by over 600 young exhibitors doing their best in the Showmanship competition. The junior shows on Saturday and Sunday saw around 1,200 cattle sorted by the three judges. The popular HBC trade show offered ranchers and ranchers in Indiana examples of livestock handling equipment, feed, educational demonstrations and many of the latest retail purchases.

HBC’s live streaming continues to gain popularity with those who cannot attend in person. Videos from the 2021 HBC Showmanship and Junior Shows have been archived and can be viewed at www.waltonwebcasting.com.

“It is the work of the HBC committee, the many volunteers and the staff of the IBCA that made this event so special, for so many people, for so many years. said Joe Moore, executive vice president of IBCA. For full show results, visit www.hoosierbeefcongress.com
