Misrepresentation of Gurus, Gurbanis and Martyrs in History Books, a Great Conspiracy Against the Sikh Religion: Kultar Singh Sandhwan

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Senior Leader and MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwa said that Punjab School Education Board is teaching bad history about Guru Sahibs and Sikhs in class 12 textbooks and for this Parkash Singh Badal led the government SAD-BJP and the ruling Congress are responsible. Sandhwan said the Sikh community is protesting against the book, so the Punjab School Education Board should immediately ban these controversial books. Kultar Singh Sandhwan attended a protest rally organized by Sikh organizations in Mohali on Monday and met with Sikh leader Baldev Singh Sirsa. Later, Sandhwan called the chairman of the Punjab School Education Board, Dr Yograj, and appealed for an immediate ban on books that hurt the feelings of the Sikh community. He said that if the Council does not ban the books by March 5, the Aam Aadmi party will stage a big protest.

In a statement released Monday from party headquarters, party spokesman and MP Kultar Singh Sandhwan said a large-scale and calculated plot had been hatched to distort facts about Sikh history, Sikh gurus, the Gurubani and the history of Punjab and its martyrs. . He said that this misinformation and distorted facts are served to the new generation, but the Congress, Captain and SAD-BJP governments don’t care because they only think about making money from the “book mafia” in collaboration with private publishing houses. This is why a book with so many errors is sold for Rs. 400 to the standard 12th grader. Kultar Singh Sandhwan demanded the immediate removal of these books from the program and the banning of books by Prof. Manjit Singh, Dr. AC Arora and Dr. MS Mann, all published by private publications. Sandhwan sought clarification from Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, PPCC Chairman Navjot Singh Sidhu, Minister of Education Pargat Singh, Former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, Former Minister of Education Vijay Inder Singla, to Former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Former Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman of Shiromani Akali Dal Sukhbir Singh Badal, including other members of Congress and Akali Dal (Badal) politicians, as to whether Guru Hargobind Ji served in Mughal ruler Jahangir’s army after freeing 52 kings from Gwalior Fort.

so says AC Arora on page 81 of his book ‘History of Punjab’. Do the ruling government and academics agree with this statement? If not, why are such books still part of the school curriculum and why are (previous governments) silent on controversial remarks? . Aren’t such comments a direct attack on Miri-Piri’s resolve? The Congress and the Akali (Badal) should also clarify this. Likewise, it is said that Guru Gobind Singh trained Khalsa Panth to include Jatts in his army which is not only wrong but also intolerable. . Will Badal, the so-called “Thekedar of the Panth”, explain this to the Sangat? Sandhwan wondered why the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee have been silent on the matter when so many written complaints are filed in this regard. He said these books also contain misinformation about freedom fighters and martyrs in Punjab. . Shandhwan said young minds can be easily swayed and that is why such controversial books being part of school education are part of a bigger plot to distort our history. He said it was academic fraud and such books should be banned immediately.
